About
Adela Ben-Yakar is a Harry Jr. L. Kent Endowed Professor in the departments of biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering and electrical and computer engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. Ben-Yakar received her Ph.D. in engineering from Stanford University and completed postdoctoral work at Stanford and Harvard Universities in physics. She is a Fellow of the SPIE, Optica and AIMBE and the recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship, Zonta Amelia Earhart Award, NSF Career Award, Human Frontier Science Program Research Award and NIH Director’s Transformative Award.
