Elizabeth Cosgriff-Hernández, professor in The University of Texas at Austin’s Department of Biomedical Engineering, is one of the newest fellows of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society (TERMIS).

The organization selected Cosgriff-Hernández for contributions that “helped lay the foundation for the conceptualization, discovery, development and now clinical translation of novel approaches for functional tissue replacement.”

The TERMIS Governing Board approved a resolution to create a group of Fellows known as “FTERM” in 2011. As a Fellow, Cosgriff-Hernández will organize and promote independent activities, such as debates, panels, educational and editorial activities, as well as contribute to the TERMIS annual Chapter meetings or World Congress meetings.

“I am incredibly honored to join the prestigious FTERM College.  It would not have been possible without the exceptional trainees that I have been privileged to collaborate with and the mentoring and support of my colleagues and friends,” said Cosgriff-Hernández.

The recognition occurred during the recent 2024 TERMIS World Congress in Seattle at the end of June. The theme for this year’s world congress was “Coming Together to Design Better Healthcare for All.”
