Professor Stanislav Emelianov and his collaborators from M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston (Dr. Sokolov and Dr. Esteva) recently received a $1.7 million, five-year National Institutes of Health grant.

The grant will fund cancer imaging and therapy research that Emelianov and his laboratory are conducting. Their research focuses specifically on molecular, image-guided photothermal therapy of cancer using targeted metal nanoparticles.
