ABSTRACT:

This talk traces a journey from Iran to England to Texas—across continents and disciplines—linking computing, engineering, and medicine. What began as a fascination with coding evolved into a medical career shaped by an engineer’s logic and curiosity. It contrasts the open, problem-solving culture of engineering with the rigid, hierarchical structure of medical training, revealing how mindset shapes innovation.  Highlighting the idea of the Physicianeer, it calls for a new kind of professional who blends technical precision with human insight. The talk challenges traditional boundaries between disciplines and argues that the future of healthcare will belong to those who think like engineers and heal like physicians.
