PRESENTER INFORMATION

ABSTRACT:

Innovations in biomedical engineering are fundamentally transforming the approach to focal cancer treatment by enhancing the precision and personalization of image-guided therapies. These advances include improving the accuracy of identifying and targeting tumors while protecting healthy tissue, enabling more effective and safer treatment delivery. By integrating detailed anatomical understanding with sophisticated combinations of AI and finite element modeling of tissue , we can improve targeting of treatment and better predict how the tumors and surrounding normal tissue will react to therapy, allowing for adaptive treatment strategies tailored to individual patients. The clinical translation of these approaches has demonstrated improvements in patient outcomes, including increased tumor control and reduced side effects. This multidisciplinary research exemplifies how engineering and clinical insights come together to push the boundaries of cancer care, offering new hope for patients through more precise, responsive, and effective therapies.
