Mr. Armin Aliefendic, a Biomedical Engineering undergraduate student, is the recipient of the 2009 Cockrell School of Engineering Outstanding First-Year Interest Group Mentor Award. This college-wide award is given to one engineering First-Year Interest Group (FIG) mentor per year based on student nominations in the fall semester.  Armin was selected out of 32 engineering FIGs in the fall 2009 semester.

FIG mentors assist new students with their transition to the university by facilitating a one-hour seminar, once a week for the fall semester and are responsible for organizing educational and social activities to help students become better acquainted with each other, faculty members, and the UT community.
