The University of Texas at Austin granted 73 bachelor’s, three master’s, and 14 doctoral degrees in biomedical engineering for the 2010–2011 academic year. Prior to the Cockrell School of Engineering’s commencement ceremony on Friday, May 20, the Department of Biomedical Engineering hosted a reception for graduates, friends, and family. Three alumni attended and spoke at the event. Stephen Chen, Courtney Creecy, and Michael King, all from the department’s first baccalaureate graduating class in 2006, gave words of advice to the new class of graduates.
