Congratulations to biomedical engineering graduate student Eileen Dawson who was recently awarded a cancer research traineeship through the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT). Dawson is one of seven other doctoral students and five postdoctoral researchers who will take part in The University of Texas at Austin Cancer Research Training Program. The program has been established with CPRIT funding by The University of Texas at Austin’s Dr. Jonathan Sessler, professor of chemistry, and Dr. John DiGiovanni, the Coulter R. Sublett Chair in Pharmacy, to train a new generation of cancer researchers.

The one-year CPRIT fellowship covers stipends, insurance, and tuition, and is renewable for up to three years.
