The National Institutes of Health (National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering), has awarded Professor Andrew Dunn a four-year $1.3 million grant. The grant will fund Professor Dunn’s work on the development of new techniques for imaging blood flow and oxygenation in the brain and the application of these techniques to investigate how the blood vessels in the brain are remodeled after a stroke. Some of these imaging methods have already provided significant insight into the acute changes following stroke and this grant will enable Professor Dunn’s lab to extend these techniques to the chronic phase of stroke recovery.
