Professor Stanislav Emelianov has been elected Vice President of the IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control Society. UFFC is a society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers with an international membership of approximately 2200 technologists. Fields of interest include technologies and applications related to:
The generation, transmission, and detection of ultrasonic waves and related phenomena.
Medical ultrasound and associated technologies.
Ferroelectric, piezoelectric, and piezomagnetic materials.
Frequency generation and control, timing, and time coordination and distribution.
Dr. Emelianov will represent the Ultrasonics section of the UFFC, and he will be involved with the organization of the annual International Ultrasonics Symposium. His term begins in January 2011.
