Shala Suri, a postdoctoral fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology who graduated with her Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin in 2010, received the 2010 Acta Student Award for her contributions to the manuscript “Photopatterned collagen-hyaluronic acid interpenetrating polymer network hydrogels, “ published in the September 2009 issue of Acta Biomaterialia.

Along with the award, Suri will receive a $2,000 prize and will be invited to attend the 2010 Materials Science & Technology Meeting this October in Houston, Texas.
While at UT, Suri conducted research in Dr. Christine Schmidt’s lab.
