Two biomedical engineering graduate students won awards at the 2011 Proctor and Gamble Seminar Competition held at The University of Texas at Austin.


Two biomedical engineering graduate students won awards at the 2011 Proctor and Gamble Seminar Competition held at The University of Texas at Austin. Priya Puvanakrishnan, a doctoral student in Professor James Tunnell’s lab, won the second place award and a $500 cash prize for her presentation, titled “Near-infrared Narrow-Band Imaging of Tumors Using Gold Nanoparticles.”

Tim Larson, a doctoral student in Konstanin Sokolov’s lab, won the third place award and a $200 cash prize for his presentation, titled “Evaluating Combined Molecular Imaging and Therapy with Near-Infrared Resonant Nanoparticles.”
