Dr. Tim H.C. Yeh, formerly of the Los Alamos National Laboratory, has joined The University of Texas at Austin as an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering.

Dr. Tim H.C. Yeh, formerly of the Los Alamos National Laboratory, has joined The University of Texas at Austin as an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
Yeh is interested in developing better research tools to advance the next stage of genomic research. One of his focuses is on the creation and study of new nanomaterials that have the potential to be used as future biosensors with unprecedented molecular sensing capabilities, especially for cancer applications. He will also focus on building next generation instruments, such as 3D molecular tracking microscopes, to facilitate biology research at the single-molecule/single-cell level.
Yeh has been recognized with numerous awards including the 2011 R&D 100 Award on “NanoCluster Beacons,” a best conference paper award in the 6th Annual IEEE International Conference on Nano/Micro Engineered and Molecular Systems, and a graduate student fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. His research is recently highlighted in Chemical and Engineering News (C&EN: July 18, 2012).
He received his B.S. in mechanical engineering from National Taiwan University, his M.S. in mechanical and aerospace engineering from UCLA, and his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
