Dr. Krishnendu Roy
has been selected as a recipient of the Global Indus Technovators Awards for 2005. These awards were established by the Indian Business Club at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2003 in order to increase awareness of the technological contributions by young South Asians across the globe. A total of ten recipients were selected from around the world for their innovative work at the forefront of biotechnology, healthcare, materials and devices, information technology, and grassroots technology. The entries were screened by a committee consisting of doctoral students at MIT and technologists and professionals in the Boston, MA area. A filtered list of nominations was then passed on to a distinguished panel of judges: Dr. Arindam Bose (VP, Pfizer), Anand Chandrasekaran (Co-founder, Aeroprise), Prof. Charles Cooney (MIT), Mr. Partha Ghosh (Strategist), Prof. Ashok Jhunjhunwala (IIT Madras), and Prof. Subra Suresh (MIT).
