Third-year BME graduate student Ryan Woodall received a Summa Cum Laude award at the 2017 meeting of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM).

Ryan Woodall, a third-year graduate student working with Professor Tom Yankeelov in the Center for Computational Oncology, received a Summa Cum Laude award at the 2017 meeting of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM). ISMRM is a nonprofit association that promotes development and innovation of magnetic resonance techniques throughout the world.

Ryan’s abstract, titled “The effects of intra-voxel contrast agent diffusion on the analysis of DCE-MRI data in realistic tissue domains,” examined an inherent error that is a fundamental assumption within the mathematical models that are used to analyze dynamic-contrast enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) data. The goal of the research is to identify solutions to improve accuracy of DCE-MRIs. 

The Summa Cum Laude award signifies that Ryan’s abstract scored in the top five percent of the 6,781 abstracts submitted to the conference. Read more about posters and oral presentations from other members of the Center for Computational Oncology at the 25th Annual ISMRM in Honolulu, Hawaii
