Aaron Baker

Professor

W.A. (Bill) Cunningham Professorship in Engineering

Department Research Area

Cell and Tissue Engineering
Multiscale Biophysics and Biomechanics
Computational Biomedical Engineering

Research Interests

  • Cardiovascular biology including atherosclerosis, thrombosis and in-stent restenosis
  • Vascular biomechanics and mechanotransduction
  • Development of medical devices, drug delivery and tissue engineering systems for enhancing tissue repair
  • Glycobiology

Research Focus
Aaron Baker specializes in cardiovascular biology, specifically devices and interventional technologies to prevent atherosclerosis and restenosis. His research focuses on vascular mechanotransduction, or the study of cell and tissue responses to mechanical forces. Additionally, his lab works to advance vascular drug delivery and testing of drugs to be used for vessel regrowth and heart revascularization.
